Dr. Rixt Hoekstra

was born in the Netherlands.

Studied architectural history in Groningen and in Venice.
Was one of Tafuri’s last students.

Received her PhD based on the doctoral thesis Building versus Bildung: Manfredo Tafuri and the construction of a historical discipline (Groningen, 2005).

Since 2007 she has been working as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Leopold Franzens Universität Innsbruck, Faculty of Architecture, Institute of Theory and History of Architecture.
