Curriculum vitae
V.I. Yovlev graduated from the Ural Branch of Moscow Architectural Institute in 1972.
He has an academic degree as Candidate of Architecture. He is a Professor, Head of the
department Principles of Architectural Design, and member of the Russian Architectural
Association. He had been an editor-in chief of the architectural journal
"Architecton" in 1992-1996.
V.I. Yovlev has had several design works and about 100 written works published,
for example Ecopsychology for Architects (textbook Ekaterinburg, 1996, 302 p.);
Chronotopogenetics in Architecture (article in: Architectura, Semiotics, and Social
Sciences.-Barcelona, Edicons UPS, 1997).
His scientific interests include ecological psychology in architecture, theory of
architectural education, composition, and semiotics.
