Prof.
Dr. Jörg H. Gleiter
Architect and Professor of Aesthetics
at the Faculty of Design and Arts at Free University of Bolzano, Italy.
He studied architecture in Berlin, Venedig und New York and worked as an architect
in New York, Frankfurt/M. und Berlin.
Since 1995 Jörg Gleiter has taught aesthetics, philosophy of architecture and
design theory at various universities.
2002 Ph.D. and 2007 Habilitation at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
In 2003 and 2008 he was Fellow in Residence at the Kolleg Friedrich Nietzsche
in Weimar.
He taught as a visiting professor in Venice (2003), Tokyo (2003-2005), Weimar
(2005-2007) and Bolzano (2005-2007).
He is the founder and editor of the book series Philosophische Diskurse
(Philosophical Discourse, co-editor G. Schweppenhäuser, Universitätsverlag Weimar)
and ArchitekturDenken (Thinking Architecture, Transcript Verlag Bielefeld).
Gleiter is the editor of the Magazine Zona.
Research topics:
Aesthetics, philosophy of architecture and design, ornament, critical theory, phenomenology, semiotics and Friedrich Nietzsche.
